How the cycle works
Two permanent destination servers, two that walk forward through the eras, and a test server that always runs one era ahead of live.
The progression runs Classic, Kunark and Velious. It does not continue into Luclin or the Planes — that would mean supporting more client versions, and doing that properly is more than a volunteer team should take on. Luclin is where finished characters go, not somewhere the cycle passes through. If the later expansions are what you are after, there are long-running servers that specialise in them.
Tunare
Progression · Classic → Kunark → Velious
The goddess of growth and rebirth, because a server that ends and begins again is her whole domain. On completing Velious she retires her characters to Tranquility and returns to Antonica, so there is always a fresh start coming.
Innoruuk
PvP progression · tracks Tunare
The Prince of Hate, running in parallel: growth and hate on the same timeline, resetting together. Each cycle adopts a different historical classic PvP ruleset, and retires to Drunder.
Tranquility
Permanent · Luclin, locked
The Plane of Tranquility was where everyone gathered between raids. For the server characters retire to when a cycle ends, that is almost literal.
Drunder
Permanent PvP · Luclin, locked
The fortress of Rallos Zek, and where Innoruuk's characters go to stay. One fixed ruleset that never changes — the war counterpart to Tranquility's peace.
Zebuxoruk
Test · one era ahead of live
The god who saw too much and was placed outside time, which is about right for a server running ahead of everyone else. Community-voted changes are proven here before they reach live.
A note on the names
Servers that cycle are named for gods. Servers that stay put are named for places in the Planes. Learn that once and you can tell what kind of server a name refers to before reading a word about it.
Past cycles are kept permanently — see the history page.
